How to Check an Amazon Gift Card Balance
Where to Find Your Amazon Gift Card Balance
Your Amazon gift card balance is stored in the Amazon account where gift cards were redeemed. It is not tied only to the device you used or to the physical card.
To see your Amazon gift card balance, sign in to Amazon and open the account area. Look for a section named Gift Cards, Gift Card Balance, or Manage Gift Card Balance. The page should show the available balance and options for reviewing activity or redeeming another card.
If you have more than one Amazon account, confirm which email address or mobile number appears in the account settings. A balance redeemed under another account will not appear in the one currently open.
How to Check the Balance on the Amazon Website
Use Amazon’s official website in your browser. Avoid search results that ask for a claim code, password, or payment details outside Amazon.
On a desktop computer:
- Open Amazon’s official website and select the sign-in option.
- Enter the email address or mobile number connected to your account, followed by your password.
- Open the Account or Your Account menu.
- Select Gift Cards or Gift Card Balance.
- Read the available balance shown near the top of the page.
In a mobile browser:
- Open Amazon’s official website and sign in.
- Open the main menu or account menu.
- Choose Your Account.
- Find and select Manage Gift Card Balance or a similarly named gift card option.
- Review the balance displayed for the signed-in account.
This is also where to see Amazon gift card balance activity. If the balance does not match what you expected, open the activity or transaction section before taking further action.
How to See the Balance in the Amazon App
To find gift card balance on Amazon in the app, first make sure the app shows the correct account. Menu names and positions can change after an app update, but the balance is normally available through the account section.
- Open the official Amazon app.
- Tap the profile or account icon, or open the main menu.
- Select Your Account or Account.
- Scroll to the payments or gift card area.
- Tap Manage Gift Card Balance, Gift Card Balance, or the closest matching option.
- Check the available balance shown on that screen.
If you cannot locate the option, use the app’s account-page search if available, or open Amazon’s official website in a browser and follow the website steps above. Do not enter a claim code into an unrelated balance-checking app.
Checking a Gift Card Before Redeeming It
An Amazon account balance page shows funds already redeemed to that account. An unredeemed card or claim code is not part of the account balance yet, so it will not appear there.
Entering a valid claim code through Amazon’s Redeem a Gift Card page may apply the card to the signed-in account. Do not enter the code merely as a test unless you are ready for it to be attached to that account.
If you need to confirm an unredeemed card’s status or value before applying it, use Amazon’s official customer service process. Start from Help or Customer Service on Amazon’s own website or app, then choose the gift card topic. Have the physical card, receipt if available, and claim-code details ready, but reveal the code only inside Amazon’s official support process.
Do not use third-party Amazon gift card balance check pages. A claim code can be used by anyone who obtains it, so do not send it through social media, email, or an unofficial chat.
If Your Balance Is Missing or Incorrect
Start with these checks:
- Confirm that you are signed in to the account where the card was redeemed.
- Refresh the balance page, or sign out and sign in again through Amazon’s official app or website.
- Open the gift card activity section and review redemptions and uses of the balance.
- Check whether another person with access to the account used part of the balance.
- Look for an on-screen message showing that a claim code was invalid, already redeemed, or entered incorrectly.
If the activity includes something you do not recognize, protect the account first. Change the password through Amazon’s account settings and review the available security options. Then contact official customer service from the Help section.
For a missing redemption, keep the card and any receipt or confirmation connected with it. Support may ask for identifying details. Never post the claim code publicly or share your Amazon password.
Account Access and Support
If you cannot sign in, begin on Amazon’s official sign-in screen and select the password-help or account-recovery option shown there. Follow the prompts sent to the email address or mobile number associated with the account. Use only prompts displayed by Amazon; do not follow recovery instructions from an unsolicited message.
If you no longer have access to the listed email address or mobile number, open Help or Customer Service from Amazon’s official website or app. Choose the topic for sign-in problems and follow the identity-verification choices Amazon presents.
For gift card questions, go to the same official Help or Customer Service area and select Gift Cards. Explain whether the issue involves the displayed account balance, gift card activity, or an unredeemed claim code. This gives support the context needed to investigate while keeping your account details inside Amazon’s official system.
