What to do if the sign-in system is down
If the page will not open, shows a server error, or keeps returning to the sign-in screen, the system may be having an outage. First, switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi. Then close the browser, reopen it, and enter the service through the company’s official website instead of an old bookmark or a result from a message.
Try a private browsing window or a different browser. Check that your phone’s date and time are set automatically. If the page opens on another device or connection, the problem is probably with the first browser or network rather than the campus system.
Do not keep submitting the form if it appears frozen. Wait a few minutes, refresh once, and try again. Save unfinished work outside the portal before retrying. If the outage continues, take a screenshot showing the error and time. Send those details to campus support when another communication method is available.
How to recognize a fake or scam website
Start from the company’s official website whenever possible. A copied sign-in page may look convincing but use a misspelled domain, create a false sense of urgency, or ask for information that is unrelated to campus access.
- Do not enter credentials on a page opened from an unexpected text, email, advertisement, or QR code.
- Check the domain carefully before typing anything. A padlock alone does not prove that a page is genuine.
- Do not approve repeated login prompts that you did not start.
- Never send a password or verification code to someone claiming they can repair the account.
If you already entered information on a suspicious page, stop using it. Open the genuine service separately, change the exposed password, and change it anywhere else you reused it. Contact campus support and report what the page requested. Keep screenshots and message details, but do not revisit or share the suspicious page.
Requests about how to scam someone cannot be helped with. If “scam new” means you received a new suspicious message, do not reply or test its instructions; preserve it as evidence and report it.
Gift cards and order tracking are not sign-in fixes
A gift card system or order tracking system is not a normal way to restore access to a learning portal. Treat any claim that you must buy a gift card, reveal its code, place an order, or provide shipment details to unlock an account as a likely scam.
Do not provide card codes, payment details, identity documents, or tracking numbers in response. End the conversation and contact the institution through a contact method you obtained independently. If you were expecting a separate delivery, check it directly with the merchant or carrier rather than through a campus sign-in message.
