USCIS My Account Sign-In

Open {site} and choose the option to sign in to your USCIS online account. Check that the page identifies USCIS and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security before entering any information.

  1. Enter the email address connected to your account.
  2. Enter your password exactly as created.
  3. Complete the verification prompt shown by USCIS.
  4. After signing in, review the account page for your cases, notices, messages, and available actions.

For a safe USCIS My Account login, avoid links in unexpected messages or search advertisements. Do not give another person your password, verification code, passkey, or security answers. USCIS treats these items as private account credentials.

If you use a shared phone or computer, do not save the password in the browser. Sign out when finished and close the browser. If the page looks unfamiliar or asks for information you do not normally use to sign in, return to the verified USCIS site instead of continuing.

USCIS Email Login

The phrase “USCIS email login” usually means signing in with the email address registered to a USCIS online account. It does not mean opening a separate USCIS email mailbox. Your email address identifies the account, while your password and verification method confirm that you are authorized to use it.

Enter the full email address associated with the account. Check spelling, punctuation, and any extra spaces. If you have more than one personal email address, use the one originally connected to USCIS. A different address may lead to an error or to a separate account that does not show the case you expect.

Do not create another account simply because a case is missing or the sign-in attempt fails. First confirm which email address belongs to the existing account and use the official account-help option if you cannot determine it.

Trouble Signing In

If the USCIS My Account login does not work, read the exact message on the screen. It may distinguish an incorrect password from a verification problem, temporary lock, unavailable service, or technical error.

  • Forgotten password: select the password-help option on the official sign-in page and follow the prompts displayed by USCIS. Use only the recovery information requested there.

  • Verification problem: confirm that you are using the verification method already connected to the account. If you cannot receive or complete the prompt, use the official account-help form.

  • Locked account: stop repeating guesses and follow the instructions shown on the USCIS page. Account-help staff can assist with access problems.

  • Page or browser error: close duplicate sign-in tabs, reopen the official page, and try a supported, updated browser. Do not disable important security protections merely to gain access.

  • Missing case after login: confirm that you entered the correct account. A successful sign-in does not guarantee that every paper-filed case is linked to that account.

Never send a password or verification code in an ordinary message. If you suspect someone else accessed the account, use USCIS account help and follow the security instructions provided there.

Check Your USCIS Case Status

After you sign in to your USCIS account, look for the case card or case list. Select the relevant case and open its status area. Depending on how the case was filed or linked, the account may also show case history, documents, notices, or secure messages.

Searches such as “USCIS login status,” “USCIS check status login,” and “USCIS status check login” can refer to two different tools. The signed-in account provides a personalized view of cases connected to that account. The public Case Status Online tool lets you check a case by receipt number without signing in.

If you only need the latest public status message, the public tool may be enough. Enter the receipt number and select the status-check button. If you need account documents, messages, or information tied to an online filing, sign in to USCIS My Account.

A missing case in the account does not necessarily mean that USCIS has no record of it. Try the public status tool with the receipt number, then use verified USCIS help if the result is missing, invalid, or inconsistent with a notice you received.

Find Your Receipt Number

The USCIS receipt number is a unique 13-character case identifier made up of three letters followed by 10 numbers. It is not the same as an online account number or an A-Number.

Look for the receipt number on a USCIS receipt notice or another official notice about the case. If you filed online, or linked an eligible paper-filed case to your account, the number may also appear on the case card inside your account.

For the public status tool, enter the letters and numbers exactly as shown. Leave out dashes. If the printed receipt number contains another character, include that character as USCIS directs. Check similar-looking letters and numbers carefully before deciding that the tool cannot find the case.

Keep the notice available when contacting support. The receipt number helps USCIS identify the specific application, petition, or request involved.

Contact USCIS Support

Use the verified contact block on this page or the Contact USCIS section of the official site. Choose the online account technical-help option for password, verification, lockout, or access-code problems. Use the USCIS Contact Center for other account or case questions.

USCIS also provides its virtual assistant for general guidance. When available, it may direct you to the correct online tool or connect you with further assistance. If you previously filed online, the secure inbox inside your account may be available for questions about that case.

Before requesting help, have your receipt notice, receipt number, form type, filing date, and the email address associated with the account ready. Share sensitive details only through a verified USCIS channel. Support may need to confirm your identity before discussing case-specific information.
