Track Items and Check Delivery Status

How to Track Items
Start with the shipping confirmation from the sender. It may include a tracking number, the carrier name, and a button that opens the shipment details. If there is no button, copy the tracking number carefully.
- Open {site} if it belongs to the sender, or find the carrier’s official tracking page through its official site or app.
- Select the option labeled Track, Tracking, Shipment Status, or a similar name.
- Enter the complete tracking number. Keep all letters and numbers, but remove accidental spaces before or after it.
- Select the search or tracking button to view the latest scan, shipment status, and available delivery details.
When you track items online, use the official sender or carrier page rather than a result from an unfamiliar message. The carrier’s system is the main source for tracking items after they enter its network.
If you are trying to “track my items” from one order, check whether the sender assigned separate tracking numbers. Items from the same order may travel in different packages and show different updates.
Where to Find the Tracking Number
A tracking number may be called a shipment number, package ID, label number, or tracking ID. Do not confuse it with the order number. An order number identifies the transaction, while a tracking number identifies a shipment in the carrier’s network.
Check these common places:
- The shipping confirmation sent by email or text after the item was prepared for shipment.
- Your order history after signing in to the sender’s official account.
- The order-details page, especially an area labeled Shipment, Delivery, or Track Items.
- A printed or digital receipt from the sender.
- A notification from the sender or carrier about shipment progress.
- A mailing receipt if you are the person who sent the item.
Search your messages for the sender’s name and terms such as shipped, tracking, dispatch, or delivery. Also check filtered or junk folders. If several numbers appear, compare each one with the shipment or package description before using it for item tracking.
Track Items Without a Tracking Number
Tracking items without a tracking number usually starts with the sender, not the carrier. Sign in to the account used for the order and open Order History or Recent Orders. Select the relevant order to see whether a tracking button or current shipment status appears without requiring you to enter a number.
If the carrier offers an official delivery-management tool, sign in using your verified account. Such a tool may show eligible incoming shipments connected to your account or delivery information. Availability and matching rules vary, so this method will not locate every shipment.
You can also review the sender’s notifications or ask the sender to provide the tracking number. If you checked out without an account, use the sender’s official order lookup when available. You may need the order number, email address, postal code, or another detail used when the order was placed.
To track items without tracking number information, do not enter personal details into an unofficial tracking form. A carrier may be unable to search by name or address alone. In that case, the sender must identify the shipment or begin the appropriate inquiry.
Understand Tracking Updates
Tracking updates come from scans and electronic shipment records. Common statuses include:
- Label created: The sender supplied shipment information, but the carrier may not have scanned the item into its network yet.
- Accepted or received: The carrier recorded possession of the shipment.
- In transit: The shipment is moving through the carrier’s network, though every movement may not produce a visible scan.
- Out for delivery: The shipment was assigned to a local delivery route.
- Delivery attempted: The carrier reports that delivery could not be completed. Read the official instructions shown with the update.
- Delivered: The carrier recorded delivery. Check the location details, household members, mail area, reception desk, or another secure place named in the update.
- Exception, delayed, or alert: An event affected normal movement. Open the detailed tracking view for instructions or the latest carrier note.
The sender may display a simplified status. For the authoritative shipment update, check the official carrier record. A status describes what has been recorded; it is not a guarantee about the next scan or delivery timing.
Fix Missing or Unchanged Tracking
If the number is unrecognized or the status is unavailable, work through these checks:
- Copy the number again from the original shipping confirmation or order details.
- Make sure you are using a tracking number rather than an order, receipt, or account number.
- Confirm the carrier named by the sender, especially when more than one carrier may handle the shipment.
- Remove added punctuation and spaces. Check easily confused characters, but do not guess replacements if the original is unclear.
- Check the sender’s order page for a corrected number or a second shipment.
- Allow time for the carrier’s first physical scan when the page only says that a label was created.
Tracking can remain unchanged while an item moves between scanning points. Repeated searches will not force a new scan. If track shipped items information stays unchanged beyond the sender’s stated guidance, contact the sender or carrier through an official support channel.
For a delivered status when the item is missing, review the delivery location in the official update and check nearby secure areas. Then report the issue promptly to the sender or carrier, following the instructions connected with the order or tracking record.
Contact the Sender or Carrier
Contact the sender first when you need to track ordered items but have no tracking number, the order account shows no shipment details, or the carrier does not recognize the number supplied. Contact the carrier when its official tracking record exists but shows a delivery problem or asks you to take action.
Open {site} for the relevant company and choose Help, Contact Us, Support, Orders, or Tracking. Use only the support options shown in the company’s official account, site, app, receipt, or verified message.
Prepare these details before requesting help:
- The tracking number, if available.
- The order number or mailing receipt number.
- The sender and recipient names.
- The delivery postal code and the address exactly as provided for the shipment.
- A short description of the item or package.
- The date of the last visible tracking update.
- The exact status or error message shown.
- Copies or screenshots of relevant confirmations, with unrelated sensitive details hidden.
Explain whether you need the tracking number, a status review, help with an attempted delivery, or guidance about an item marked delivered but not found. Clear details help support identify the correct order and explain the next official step.
