How to Check Your Outage Status

An outage map can lag behind field conditions. A map marker may cover a broad area, and restoration information for one circuit may not apply to every property inside that area.
What an Estimated Restoration Time Means
An estimated restoration time is the utility’s current best projection, not a guarantee. Early estimates may be based on reports from monitoring equipment and customers rather than a complete inspection.
The estimate can move earlier or later after crews reach the site. They may discover extra damaged poles, multiple cable faults, blocked access, unstable trees, flooding, fire hazards, or equipment that must be replaced. Power may also be restored briefly and switched off again so crews can complete work safely.
Watch the official status page for updates instead of relying only on the first estimate. A missing estimate usually means the utility is still assessing the outage; it does not necessarily mean that no crew is responding.
When to Report the Outage
Report a new outage if your property has lost power and the utility has not confirmed an incident for your location. Report it again through the utility’s stated process if your address is missing from the map or the status tool says service is available when it is not.
Notify the utility if nearby homes regain power but yours remains off. First check the main breaker only if you can reach it safely and there are no signs of burning, water, damaged wiring, or other hazards. Do not open utility equipment or attempt electrical repairs.

- Avoid flooded areas and any water near electrical equipment. Do not touch damaged meters, panels, wires, or branches resting on wires. Wait for the utility or a qualified professional to declare the area safe.
