My HealtheVet Login and Account Sign-In Help
For a My HealtheVet login, open the official VA site and sign in with a verified Login.gov or ID.me account. My HealtheVet usernames, My HealtheVet passwords, and DS Logon credentials are no longer accepted for access to VA online services.
My HealtheVet has moved into the current VA.gov experience, but its health tools remain available after you sign in.
Where is the official My HealtheVet login page?
Open {site} and select the option to sign in or manage your health care. The official My HealtheVet login may redirect you to VA.gov because VA moved My HealtheVet health records, medications, and secure messages into its current account system.
A redirect is expected when the pages continue to VA.gov and then offer Login.gov or ID.me. Stop if a page asks you to use an old My HealtheVet password, requests credentials before showing the VA sign-in choices, or has branding that does not match VA, Login.gov, or ID.me.
Search results for “myhealthevet login,” “healthevet login,” or “my healthevet account login” may include outdated pages. Starting at {site} avoids relying on an old bookmark or an unofficial sign-in page.
How do I sign in to my My HealtheVet account?
A verified account is a Login.gov or ID.me account that has completed VA’s identity-checking process. Multifactor authentication, also called MFA, is the extra sign-in step that confirms your identity using a method you previously set up.
- Open the official VA sign-in page from the My HealtheVet page.
- Select Login.gov or ID.me, matching the provider where you already have an account.
- Enter the email address and password for that provider. Do not enter an old My HealtheVet user ID or DS Logon username.
- Complete MFA using the authentication method attached to that account.
- If prompted, complete the provider’s official identity-verification process.
- After VA returns you to your account, open the health section to reach My HealtheVet records and tools.
Login.gov and ID.me are separate accounts. Credentials created with one provider will not work in the other provider’s sign-in form. VA requires one of these two supported accounts for a My HealtheVet account sign in.
Is there a My HealtheVet login app?
VA says it is not developing a separate official My HealtheVet app at this time. Mobile users can open My HealtheVet through the official VA website in a phone browser.
VA also offers the official VA: Health and Benefits app for supported health and benefit tasks. That app uses Login.gov or ID.me credentials; it is not named “My HealtheVet.” Some devices may allow biometric access after the account is securely configured.
If you search for “my healthevet login app” or “my healthevet app login,” confirm that any installed app is published as an official Department of Veterans Affairs product. Do not enter VA, Login.gov, or ID.me credentials into an app merely because its name resembles My HealtheVet.
What if I forgot my username or password?
For current My HealtheVet sign-in, the account identifier for Login.gov or ID.me is the email address registered with that provider. Password recovery must be completed with the same provider, not through the My HealtheVet Help Desk.
- Login.gov: Use the password-recovery option on the official Login.gov sign-in screen. Follow the instructions Login.gov sends or displays. Use the Login.gov Help Center if you cannot identify or access the registered email account.
- ID.me: Use the password-reset option on the official ID.me sign-in screen. Follow ID.me’s instructions. Use ID.me support if you cannot identify the account email or complete recovery.
VA and My HealtheVet representatives cannot reset a Login.gov or ID.me password. Do not send a password, authentication code, recovery code, or identity document through ordinary email or to anyone who contacts you unexpectedly.
How do I fix common My HealtheVet login problems?
- Credentials are rejected: Confirm that you selected the provider where the account was created. Reset the password through that provider if it still fails.
- The verification email is missing: Check the inbox and spam folder for the email account registered with Login.gov or ID.me. Contact that provider if no confirmation message appears.
- An MFA code does not arrive: Check the phone or internet connection and use another authentication method already configured on the account, if offered. Follow the provider’s official MFA recovery guidance if the original method is unavailable.
- Identity verification fails: Use VA’s guidance for common Login.gov and ID.me verification issues, then contact the selected provider for account-specific help.
- Access appears locked: Stop repeated attempts and follow the instructions shown by Login.gov or ID.me. VA support cannot unlock or reset a provider password.
- The page will not load: Close the browser completely and reopen it. Clear cookies and cached data, enable cookies, update the browser, or try another current browser.
- The return to VA.gov fails: A verification session may have expired. Close that tab, open a new one, and sign in again. Record any error code before closing the page.
How do I contact My HealtheVet support?
Use the official Contact Us form available from the My HealtheVet area for portal questions. For a Login.gov password, account email, MFA, or verification problem, use the Login.gov Help Center. For the same issues with an ID.me account, use ID.me support.
Before contacting support, have the account provider’s name, the email address associated with the account, the exact error message or code, and the type of device and browser ready. Explain where the problem occurred and what troubleshooting you already tried.
Never give support staff your password, one-time authentication code, backup code, or other sensitive credential. If a secure identity-verification process requires personal information, enter it only within the official provider’s protected workflow.
