Locate Your Tracking Number
Where to Find Your Tracking Number
A tracking number is usually created after an order has been prepared for shipment. It may appear in several places, depending on how you placed the order and how the sender provides updates.
Shipping confirmation: Look for a message stating that the order has shipped. The tracking number may appear beside the carrier name or under a shipment details heading.
Order history: Sign in to the account used for the order, open the correct order, and check its shipment details.
Receipt: A receipt for an item shipped from a store may show the tracking number, carrier, or shipment reference.
Package notification: An email or text message about package movement may include the number or a button that opens the current status.
Do not confuse the tracking number with the order number. An order number identifies the transaction for the seller. A tracking number identifies the shipment for the carrier. If an order was divided into separate packages, each package may have its own tracking details.
Find It in Your Online Account
To locate your tracking number online, open {site} and sign in with the email address or username used when the order was placed. If prompted, complete any identity check before continuing.
Open the area that lists your recent or past orders.
Select the order containing the item you are expecting.
Look for shipment details, delivery information, or a package status.
Open the shipment entry to locate the tracking number and carrier name.
Wording varies between services, so focus on the relevant order and its shipping information instead of looking for one exact menu label. If more than one shipment is listed, match each shipment with its items before copying a number.
If you cannot find the order, confirm that you signed in with the same email address used at checkout. Also check whether the order was placed through a different account or completed as a guest.
Check Your Email or Text Messages
Search your email for the sender’s name together with words such as “shipped,” “shipping confirmation,” “package,” or “tracking.” Check the inbox, spam folder, junk folder, promotions area, and deleted messages. If you use more than one email address, search the address entered with the order.
Open the shipping confirmation rather than relying only on its subject line. The tracking number may be in the message body, near the carrier name, or behind a shipment-status button. A later package notification may contain updated details even if the original order confirmation did not.
Search text messages from the sender or delivery notification service as well. Avoid sharing a tracking number or account code in response to an unexpected message. If a message seems suspicious, return to the official account or use the verified contact information displayed on this page.
Compare the labels carefully when you locate tracking details. A long reference marked “order number,” “confirmation number,” or “receipt number” may not work in a carrier’s tracking tool. Use only the value identified as a tracking or shipment number.
Track a Package Without an Account
If you checked out as a guest, start with the order and shipping messages sent to your email address or phone. A shipping confirmation may provide the tracking number or a direct way to view shipment status without signing in.
The sender may also offer an official guest-order lookup. Open {site} and look for help with order status or guest orders. You may be asked for details such as the order number, email address, billing ZIP code, or another value from the receipt. Enter information only through the official service.
If you know the carrier and have a valid tracking number, use the carrier’s official tracking tool. Another option is to contact the sender through its verified support channel and ask for shipment details. Keep the order confirmation, receipt, name on the order, and delivery ZIP code ready so support can identify the transaction.
If the Tracking Number Is Missing
An order confirmation does not always contain shipment details. First, check whether the order status shows that it has shipped. If it is still being processed, a tracking number may not have been issued or added to the account yet.
Refresh the order page and sign out, then sign back in.
Search all email folders and review recent text notifications.
Confirm that the email address and phone number on the order are correct.
Check whether the order contains separate shipments with different status entries.
Review the receipt for a shipment reference or carrier name.
If the account says the order shipped but no tracking details appear, contact the sender’s official support team. Provide the order number, account email, recipient name, and delivery ZIP code. Ask support to confirm whether a tracking number exists and which carrier has the package.
If the Tracking Number Does Not Work
Copy the number directly from the shipping confirmation or account when possible. If you entered it manually, check for missing characters, extra spaces, punctuation, and letters or numbers that look similar. Do not add the order number or other text around it.
Next, identify the carrier named in the shipment details. Enter the number only in that carrier’s official tracking tool. A shipment may also have more than one reference, so choose the value specifically labeled for tracking.
If no result appears, return to the order page and confirm that the number has not been replaced or corrected. When you still cannot locate tracking status, contact the sender first to verify the number and carrier. If the sender confirms both, use the carrier’s official support channel and provide the tracking number exactly as shown.
Keep screenshots of error messages and shipment details. They can help support see whether the problem is an incorrect number, an unrecognized shipment, or an account display issue.
