How to Track a Last Mile Delivery
Have your shipment identifier ready before you begin. For last mile delivery tracking, open {site} and look for the tracking tool. It may be labeled Track, Tracking, Track a Shipment, or something similar.
- Enter the tracking number exactly as it appears in your shipment notice.
- Check for extra spaces before or after the number and remove them.
- Select the button that submits the tracking request.
- Wait for the current shipment record to appear.
The results should show the latest recorded status and may include a list of earlier scans. Read the newest update first, then check its date and location if those details are displayed. You normally do not need to sign in to track last mile delivery, although the official tracking page will determine what information is required.
Where to Find Your Tracking Number
The last mile delivery tracking number is usually provided by the sender, retailer, marketplace, or shipping partner. It is not always the same as an order number, confirmation number, or payment reference.
Check these common places:
- The shipment confirmation email or text message.
- The order details or shipping section in the sender’s account.
- A dispatch notice from the retailer or marketplace.
- A message announcing that a local delivery carrier has received the package.
- The shipping label, receipt, or paperwork supplied by the sender.
If several numbers appear, look for one specifically labeled tracking number, shipment number, package ID, or delivery ID. Do not assume that a number is valid because it has a particular length or pattern. Tracking identifiers can vary by sender and shipment.
Understanding Tracking Status Updates
Tracking language can differ, but these common messages generally describe the same stages:
- Received: Shipment information or the package has been received by the delivery company. More scans may be needed before movement appears.
- In transit: The package is moving through the delivery network or between facilities. It may remain in this status between scans.
- Out for delivery: The package has been assigned for a delivery attempt. This does not confirm that delivery has been completed.
- Delivered: The carrier’s record shows that delivery was completed. Review any location or delivery note shown with the status.
- Exception: An issue has interrupted normal processing. Read the details beside the update because the next action depends on the reason given.
- Unavailable: The system cannot currently display a shipment record. The number may not be active yet, may have been entered incorrectly, or may belong to a different tracking system.
A scan records an event reported by the delivery network. It may not appear immediately after the package changes location, so the newest visible entry is not always a live position.
If the Tracking Number Does Not Work
Start by comparing the entered number with the original shipment notice. Check every character, remove spaces added during copying, and make sure you did not enter the order number by mistake. If possible, copy the identifier directly instead of typing it.
A recently issued number may not return a result until the carrier activates the shipment record or records an initial scan. Wait for the sender’s dispatch confirmation, then try the official tracking tool again later.
If the number still fails, return to the sender’s order details and confirm which company is handling the final delivery. A shipment can pass through more than one stage, and the identifier supplied for an earlier stage may not work in the last-mile system.
Contact the sender when the notice contains no usable tracking number, when the carrier cannot identify the shipment, or when the order details conflict with the tracking result. The sender can confirm which identifier and delivery company apply. For a problem with an active record, use the verified support options on {site}.
If a Package Is Delayed or Marked Delivered
If tracking stops updating, check the date, place, and wording of the most recent scan. Look for an exception note or request for more information. Confirm that the sender has the correct delivery details. Avoid submitting repeated requests while the tracking page is temporarily unavailable; save a screenshot or note of the latest status instead.
If the shipment is marked delivered but you cannot find it, first read any delivery note shown in tracking. Check the normal delivery area, mailbox, parcel locker, building desk, reception area, and other safe locations accessible at the address. Ask household members or authorized building staff whether they accepted it.
Confirm that you are viewing the correct shipment and delivery address. Do not share a full tracking number publicly. If the package remains missing, contact the sender or official delivery support and report exactly what the tracking page shows. Follow only the instructions provided for that specific shipment.
Contact Last Mile Delivery Support
Before contacting support, gather the details needed to locate the record:
- The complete tracking number.
- The sender’s name and your order reference, if available.
- The recipient name and delivery postal code.
- The latest status, scan date, and any exception message.
- A short description of the problem and the checks already completed.
Use only verified official contact options displayed on the company’s support or contact page. Choose the tracking or delivery topic when prompted. Share sensitive shipment details only through an official support channel, and keep any case reference supplied during the conversation.
If support cannot find the record, contact the sender and ask it to confirm the carrier and tracking identifier. If the record exists but the package has a delivery problem, explain the latest scan clearly and ask what action is available for that shipment.
