How to Hide an Amazon Order in the App

Can You Hide an Amazon Order in the App?
No, you cannot hide an Amazon order in the Amazon Shopping app. Amazon no longer lets customers archive new orders, and an order cannot be deleted from the order history of an active account.
Archiving formerly removed an order from the default Your Orders view without erasing the order record. Hiding was an informal name for that limited change. Deleting would remove the record, which the archive feature never did.
Amazon discontinued order archiving in 2025. Previously archived orders were later returned to the regular order history. Therefore, instructions claiming that an Archive Order button exists in the app, a mobile browser, or the desktop site are outdated.
How to Hide or Archive an Amazon Order
There is currently no supported procedure for how to hide an Amazon order on the app or how to archive an Amazon order on the app. Updating the app, requesting the desktop version of the site, or using a computer does not restore the retired feature.
You can confirm what is available on your account:
- Sign in to the Amazon account that placed the order.
- Open Your Orders in the app, or open the company’s official website in a browser and select Returns & Orders.
- Find the order and open its details.
- Review the available actions. An Archive Order control is no longer expected.
Do not use unofficial direct-address workarounds, browser scripts, or extensions that claim to restore archiving. They are not official privacy controls, may stop working, and may require access to account or order information.
How to Find Hidden or Archived Orders
Amazon’s former Archived Orders view has been removed. Orders archived before the feature ended should now appear in the normal Your Orders history rather than in a separate archive.
- Open Your Orders while signed in to the correct Amazon account.
- Use the order search box to enter an item name or order number, if available.
- Use the date filter to select the year in which the order was placed.
- Open Order Details when the matching order appears.
If an old order is missing, first check the selected year and the signed-in email address. People with more than one Amazon login often search the history of the wrong account. Customer Service can help locate account features, but it should not be expected to hide, delete, or re-archive an ordinary order.
What Other Account Users Can Still See
Anyone signed in with the same Amazon account credentials can generally open that account’s order history. Because new orders cannot be archived, another user of the same login may see the item, recipient information shown in the order details, delivery status, and available invoice or transaction documents.
An order can also leave traces outside the main order list:
- Order searches can locate records retained in Your Orders.
- Email, text, app, or device notifications may show an item name or delivery information, depending on the account’s settings.
- Shipment tracking and delivery updates can reveal an active order.
- Invoices and order details remain associated with the account.
- Recently viewed activity and account personalization may reflect related activity.
- Connected devices may announce or display delivery information if their notification settings permit it.
Removing a notification or clearing recently viewed activity does not remove the order. No single setting guarantees privacy when several people share one login, email inbox, phone, or connected device.
Ways to Keep Future Orders Private
Separate sign-ins are the official way to maintain separate order histories. Amazon Family can link eligible household accounts so family members can share selected benefits while keeping orders on the account that placed them.
- Have each adult use an individual Amazon account and keep the passwords separate.
- Open the Amazon Family settings and review which household members and benefits can be linked.
- Review Family Library settings before sharing digital content.
- Place a private order only while signed in to the intended individual account.
- Review notification settings on shared phones, tablets, speakers, displays, email accounts, and text-message destinations.
- Sign out of shared browsers and remove saved sign-in access where appropriate.
Amazon Family has account and household requirements that Amazon may change. Read the eligibility information shown during setup rather than assuming every account can add every type of family member. A separate profile on a shared device is not a substitute for a separate Amazon account if both profiles can access the same login.
What to Do If the Option Is Missing
If the Archive Order option is missing, the most likely reason is that Amazon retired the feature, not that the app is broken. The Amazon Shopping app never provided a reliable control for archiving orders, and the former browser control is no longer available for new archives.
- Update the Amazon Shopping app if other account pages are malfunctioning, but do not expect an update to add order archiving.
- Sign out and confirm which email address or mobile number belongs to the account that placed the order.
- Check Your Orders in a mobile or desktop browser to rule out an app display problem.
- Confirm that you are viewing the correct order year and account type, because personal and business account screens can differ.
- In the app, open the menu, choose Customer Service, and follow the prompts for help with an order or account feature.
- On the company’s official website, open Customer Service and use the displayed contact choices. Amazon determines which support methods are available for the signed-in account.
Support can clarify current account controls and help with sign-in problems. It cannot be assumed that an agent can restore the discontinued archive feature or remove a valid order record.
