Check an Apple Gift Card Balance
Choose the Balance You Need to Check
Apple uses similar names for three different balances. Choose the right one before following any steps.
- An Apple Gift Card balance is the value still attached to an unredeemed physical or emailed card.
- An Apple Account balance is credit already redeemed to your Apple Account. It appears when you sign in to Apple services with that account.
- An Apple Card balance is the amount owed on the Apple-issued credit card. It is not gift card credit.
If you still have the card or email and have not redeemed it, use the gift card balance process. If you already redeemed the code, view your Apple Account balance. If you want to review credit card activity or an amount owed, use the Apple Card instructions.
This distinction matters when checking apple gift card balance information. An Apple Gift Card balance, Apple Account balance, and Apple Card balance are separate and are not interchangeable.
Check an Apple Gift Card Balance Online
For an official apple gift card balance check, start at Apple’s own Support site. Search the site for “Check your gift card balance,” then select the option labeled “See the balance of your gift card.” Do not enter the card information on a third-party balance page.
- Have the physical card or the original gift card email ready.
- Open the balance tool from Apple Support.
- Sign in to the Apple Account requested by the page.
- Enter the card details shown in the email or on the card. The tool may ask for the card’s PIN or redemption code.
- Review the displayed balance and confirm that the card description matches yours.
On a physical card, the code may be under a label or coating on the back. Remove only the covering intended to reveal the code. Do not confuse the code with a serial number or other printed identifier.

View Your Apple Account Balance
Once a gift card has been redeemed, its value becomes part of the Apple Account balance. The original card may no longer show that value as available. Check the account that received the redemption.
On an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro, open the App Store and tap your photo, initials, or the sign-in button at the top. Sign in if asked. If the account has a balance, the amount appears on the account screen. If no amount appears, Apple says that account has no available balance.
On a Mac, open the App Store and sign in. The balance appears below your name in the sidebar when funds are available. On a Windows PC, open the official Apple Music or Apple TV app, sign in, and look below your name in the sidebar.
On an iPhone, the balance may also appear on an Apple Account card in Wallet where that feature is supported. Open Wallet and look for Apple Account. If it has not been added, tap the add-card control and choose Add Apple Account when that option is available.
Make sure every device is signed in to the same Apple Account. A redeemed balance stays with the account that accepted the code; it does not remain as a separate Apple Card balance.
Check an Apple Card Balance
Checking apple card balance information requires the Wallet app or Apple’s official Apple Card account service. It does not use the gift card balance page.
On an iPhone, open Wallet and tap Apple Card. Card Balance appears below the card and represents the total amount currently owed. Tap the balance area to review more details, such as the monthly balance, recent activity, payments, or credits.
On an iPad, open Settings, select Wallet & Apple Pay, and then select Apple Card. The displayed Card Balance is the amount owed. Available details can vary according to account status and device setup.
For an apple card balance check in a browser, begin on Apple’s official Apple Card Support page. Choose the sign-in option for checking a balance, then authenticate with the Apple Account connected to Apple Card. Look under Payments and open Balance Details for the available breakdown. Never use gift card codes on this screen.
Fix Balance-Checking Problems
If the card code is unreadable, do not keep scraping or peeling once the printed characters may be damaged. Keep the entire card, any packaging, and the original receipt or email. Apple Support may need clear images of the front and back and identifying details from the receipt.
For an invalid-card message, enter the code again carefully. Check similar characters, remove accidental spaces, and confirm that you are using the redemption code rather than the serial number. Also confirm that the card type matches the Apple balance tool you opened.
If sign-in fails, use the account-recovery choices shown on Apple’s official sign-in screen. Confirm the email address or phone identifier attached to the intended Apple Account. Avoid repeated guesses if the account becomes locked.
If the displayed amount is lower than expected, first determine whether the card was redeemed. For Apple Account discrepancies, sign out of the App Store, Apple Music, or Apple TV app, sign back in, and check again. Review purchase history, subscription renewals, refunds, and the account currently signed in. For Apple Card discrepancies, review posted transactions, pending activity, payments, credits, and recent statements.
Take screenshots of messages, but never share a full redemption code in an ordinary email, public post, or chat with an unverified person.
Contact Apple Support
Contact official support when the balance tool repeatedly rejects a valid-looking code, the code is damaged, a redeemed amount is missing, the displayed balance does not match documented activity, or you see transactions you do not recognize.
Start on Apple’s official Support site and choose the topic for Gift Cards, Apple Account, or Apple Card. Use the contact choices Apple displays for your issue and location. For Apple Card help, Wallet may also provide a support or message option inside the card’s account controls.
Have the relevant items ready: the physical card or original email, card serial number, receipt, approximate redemption date, Apple Account identifier, exact error message, device type, and related purchase or transaction details. Share a redemption code only when an authenticated Apple support process specifically requests it.
