How to Archive Orders on the Amazon App

Updated 2026-08-25 · 912 words

You cannot archive orders on the Amazon app because Amazon no longer offers order archiving for customer accounts. The archive control is also unavailable on Amazon’s desktop and mobile websites, so older instructions showing an “Archive order” button no longer work.

Can You Archive Orders in the Amazon App?

No. Amazon removed the ability to archive orders, and Amazon staff have confirmed that the feature is no longer available. This applies to the Amazon Shopping app and the regular Amazon website.

The type of phone, operating system, app version, and screen size do not restore the feature. Updating or reinstalling the app will not add an archive control that Amazon has removed from customer accounts.

Some search results still explain how to archive orders on Amazon app screens. Those instructions describe an older interface and may direct you to menus or buttons that are no longer present. The same warning applies to older guides answering “how to archive orders in Amazon app”: they may be accurate historically but cannot complete the task now.

How to Archive an Amazon Order

There is currently no supported procedure for archiving a new Amazon order. Amazon previously displayed an “Archive order” control in the website’s order history, but that control has been removed.

You can confirm that an order remains in your standard history:

  1. Open the Amazon Shopping app and sign in to the account used for the order.
  2. Open the account area and select Your Orders.
  3. Use the order search or the available date filters to locate the order.
  4. Open the order details and review the available controls.

If “Archive order” is absent, there is no additional app setting that enables it. Do not enter account details into a third-party page, install an unofficial browser script, or use an old direct-address workaround. Such methods are not supported Amazon controls and may expose account information or fail without changing the order history.

Use a Mobile Browser if the Option Is Missing

A mobile browser can help you open the full order history, but it cannot restore Amazon’s discontinued archive feature. Switching from the app to a browser is useful for checking whether an app page is failing to load, not for obtaining an archive button.

  1. Open the browser already installed on your phone.
  2. Open the company’s official website and sign in to the same Amazon account used for the order.
  3. Open the account menu and select Your Orders.
  4. Search for the order or filter the history by the relevant date.
  5. Open the order details to see the controls Amazon currently provides for that order.

If the order appears but no archive control is shown, the page is working as currently designed. Requesting the desktop version of the site, rotating the phone, clearing browser data, or trying another browser will not recreate a feature that is unavailable at the account level.

How to View Archived Orders

Amazon no longer provides a separate Archived Orders view for customer accounts. Orders that were archived before the feature was retired can be found in the regular Your Orders history.

  1. Sign in through the Amazon Shopping app or open the company’s official website in a browser.
  2. Select Your Orders from the account area.
  3. Enter an item name or order number in the order search, if available.
  4. If search does not find it, select the date range in which the order was originally placed.
  5. Open the matching order to review its details.

Use the same Amazon account and country storefront that handled the original order. An order may appear missing when the reader has signed in with a different email address, phone-based account, or household member’s account. If the order is old, expand the date range rather than looking only at recent orders.

How to Unarchive an Order

You do not need to unarchive an Amazon order now. Amazon removed the separate archived-order area, and previously archived orders appear in the standard Your Orders history.

The former process used an “Unarchive order” control inside Archived Orders. That menu and control are no longer part of the current customer experience. Consequently, there is no verified present-day unarchive procedure to perform in the app or mobile browser.

If a formerly archived order does not appear, search the ordinary order history by order number, item name, and original date range. Also confirm that you are using the account associated with the order. Amazon Customer Service can help investigate an account-specific missing record, but support should be reached through the authenticated Customer Service area rather than through a number or address copied from an unofficial page.

What Archiving Does and Does Not Do

Order archiving was a display feature that moved an order out of the default order-history view and into a separate archived list. It did not erase the order record or make the activity unknown to Amazon.

When the feature was available, archiving did not:

  • cancel or pause delivery;
  • change shipment tracking or delivery updates;
  • remove the order from Amazon’s account records;
  • cancel an eligible return or change its progress;
  • sign other devices out of the Amazon account;
  • prevent another person with access to the account from finding the archived order.

Because Amazon has discontinued archiving, a current order remains in the normal order history. Archiving should never be treated as an account-security or privacy control: even historically, it only changed where an order appeared. If someone else can sign in to the same account, review who has access and use Amazon’s account-security settings rather than relying on order-history placement.
