Can You Archive Amazon Orders in the App?

You cannot archive Amazon orders in the Amazon Shopping app. Amazon has also removed the Archive Order feature from most customer accounts, so a mobile browser or desktop computer may not provide the option either.

Archiving means removing an order from the default Your Orders view without deleting the order record. It was previously available through Amazon’s desktop website, but not through the mobile app.

The available controls can differ during an interface rollout or between Amazon marketplaces. These instructions concern regular customer accounts on the United States marketplace. Amazon Business, seller, and accounts on other regional marketplaces may have different order-management screens.

If an older guide says to request the desktop site on a phone, that method is worth checking only to see whether Archive Order remains available on your account. It cannot restore a feature Amazon has removed.

How to Archive an Amazon Order

There is no current, dependable method for archiving a new Amazon order in the app. If your account still shows the older Archive Order control, use Amazon in a web browser rather than the Amazon Shopping app.

  1. Open the company’s official website in a browser and sign in to the account that placed the order.
  2. On a phone, open the browser menu and request the desktop version of the site. The exact wording depends on the browser.
  3. Open Account or Your Account, then select Your Orders.
  4. Find the order you want to remove from the default list. Check that you are viewing the correct account and marketplace.
  5. Look for Archive Order on the order card or in the order details.
  6. If Archive Order appears, select it and review any confirmation shown on the screen.
  7. Return to Your Orders and confirm that the order is no longer in the default list.

If Archive Order does not appear, the order cannot be archived through the normal customer interface. Avoid unofficial scripts, altered addresses, or browser tools that claim to restore the control; they may stop working and require access to account information.

How to Find Archived Orders

Amazon app archived orders do not have a dependable, separate page in the mobile app. An order archived before the feature was withdrawn may appear in an Archived Orders filter on the website, or it may have returned to the regular order history as Amazon changed the interface.

  1. Sign in through a browser and open Your Orders.
  2. Check the order-history filter for an Archived Orders choice.
  3. If that choice appears, select it and open the relevant order.
  4. If no archived filter appears, search Your Orders using the item name or order number.
  5. Change the date or year filter if the order is old.
  6. Select the matching order to open its details.

To find archived orders on the Amazon app, open Your Orders and use its available search and date controls. The app may show a formerly archived order in the normal results, but it does not provide a reliable archive-management screen. Search results and labels can vary by app version.

How to Unarchive an Amazon Order

You cannot reliably unarchive an Amazon order in the app. If an older archived order remains in a separate Archived Orders view and Amazon still supplies an Unarchive Order control, use a web browser.

  1. Sign in to the same Amazon account and marketplace used for the original order.
  2. Open Your Orders and choose Archived Orders from the filter, if that choice is present.
  3. Open the archived order or locate its order card.
  4. Select Unarchive Order if Amazon displays that control.
  5. Confirm the action, then return to the regular Your Orders list.

If the archived view or Unarchive Order control is absent, there may be nothing the customer can change manually. Search the regular order history because Amazon may already display the former archived order there. Customer service can explain the controls available on the account, but it should not be assumed that an agent can restore the retired feature.

What Does Archiving an Amazon Order Hide?

Archiving an Amazon order historically changed where the order appeared; it did not delete the order or make it fully private. Anyone who can sign in to the same Amazon account may still be able to locate the record.

  • Order records: Archiving does not erase the transaction from the account or Amazon’s records.

  • Returns and order details: Archiving does not cancel the order or guarantee that return and support information will disappear.

  • Invoices: Archiving is not a method for deleting invoices or other available order documents.

  • Account users: It does not create privacy from another person using the same sign-in credentials.

  • Notifications: It does not guarantee that shipment messages, emails, device alerts, or delivery notices will be hidden.

  • Recommendations: It does not promise to remove the item’s influence from recommendations or other personalized areas.

  • Browsing history: Archiving an order does not clear product pages from browsing history.

For a surprise or sensitive order, archiving should never be treated as a privacy safeguard. Check shared devices, account access, messages, and notifications separately.

What Should You Do If the Amazon Order Archive Option Is Missing?

The Amazon order archive option is usually missing because Amazon withdrew the customer-facing feature. Its absence in the mobile app is expected and does not necessarily indicate an app error.

  • App limitation: The Amazon Shopping app does not provide a dependable Archive Order or Unarchive Order control.

  • Interface changes: Instructions and screenshots from older guides may describe controls that are no longer offered.

  • Account type: A personal customer account, Amazon Business account, and seller account use different order tools. Instructions for one may not apply to another.

  • Order status or type: If only one order lacks the control, compare it with another completed order. Do not assume every kind of order was eligible under the older feature.

  • Wrong account: Confirm that the signed-in account is the one that placed the order.

  • Wrong marketplace: Confirm that you are using the United States marketplace where the order was placed. Controls from another regional Amazon site may differ.

Trying the desktop website can confirm whether a remaining account-level control exists, but it is not a guaranteed workaround. If the option is absent there too, the practical alternatives are to search or filter the regular order history and keep future sensitive activity separate from an account shared with other people.
