Where to Find Subscriptions on iPhone
To manage app subscriptions on iPhone, start in the Settings app. This list covers subscriptions billed through Apple, including eligible subscriptions started inside App Store apps. Subscriptions billed directly by an app company or another provider may not appear.
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- If asked, sign in to your Apple Account or confirm your identity.
If your name is not shown at the top of Settings, the iPhone may not be signed in to an Apple Account. Sign in with the account used for the subscription, then return to Subscriptions.
You can also open the App Store, tap your profile picture, and select Subscriptions when that option is available. The Settings route is usually the most direct way to view app subscriptions on iPhone.
View Active and Expired App Subscriptions
The Subscriptions screen separates current subscriptions from inactive or expired ones. Tap any subscription to see its status and available management choices.
For an active subscription, review the app or service name and the displayed renewal or expiration information. This tells you whether the subscription is expected to renew or has already been scheduled to end. Available options depend on the subscription and how it was set up.
An inactive section may contain subscriptions that expired or were canceled previously. An old subscription appearing there does not mean it is still renewing. Open its details and read the status shown on the screen.
Keep these points in mind when checking app subscriptions on iPhone:
- Deleting an app does not cancel its subscription.
- An expiration message generally means renewal has already been stopped.
- A subscription may remain usable until the expiration date displayed by Apple.
- Family members usually manage subscriptions connected to their own Apple Accounts.
- Not every subscription used in an iPhone app is billed through Apple.
Change or Cancel an App Subscription
To change or cancel app subscriptions on iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, and select the subscription you want to manage.
If Apple offers different subscription options, they appear on the details screen. Select an available option and follow the confirmation prompts. Read the effective date and other terms shown before confirming because the timing of a change can vary.
To stop renewal:
- Open the subscription details.
- Scroll down if necessary.
- Tap Cancel Subscription or the equivalent cancellation option.
- Confirm the choice when prompted.
- Return to the details page and verify that it shows an expiration date or indicates that the subscription is canceled.
If there is no Cancel button and the page shows an expiration message, the subscription is already set not to renew. Take a screenshot of the status if you want a record.
Cancellation stops future renewal according to the status Apple displays. It does not automatically request a refund. If the service is billed by another company, use that company’s account or support process instead.
If a Subscription Is Missing
A missing entry often means that a different Apple Account or billing provider was used. Do not assume that the subscription has ended simply because it is absent from the current list.
- Check which Apple Account is signed in by opening Settings and tapping your name.
- Search your email for an Apple receipt or invoice connected to the subscription.
- Read the receipt to identify the Apple Account used for the transaction.
- If another account belongs to you, sign in with that account and check Subscriptions again.
- If the receipt names a family member’s account, ask that person to manage the subscription from their account.
If you cannot find an Apple receipt, inspect the description on the relevant bank or card statement. The app developer, mobile carrier, streaming provider, or another company may handle the billing. Contact the company named on the statement and ask where the subscription is managed.
You can also review Apple purchase history to confirm whether the charge came through Apple. Purchase history is broader than the subscription list and may help identify the account or item involved.
If You Cannot Access Subscription Settings
If Settings will not open the subscription list, first confirm that the iPhone has an internet connection. Close and reopen Settings, then restart the iPhone if the page remains blank or reports a temporary error.
If you cannot sign in, use Apple’s official account-recovery process. You may need your Apple Account email address or phone number, access to a trusted device, or another verification method already connected to the account. Follow the prompts carefully; Apple determines which recovery choices are available.
For an account that is locked, disabled, or otherwise inaccessible, open {site} and choose the Apple Account or billing and subscriptions support topic. Use only the contact choices displayed by Apple for your location. Have the subscription name, receipt, charge date, Apple Account details, and any on-screen error message ready.
Never give another person your password, device passcode, or verification code. Apple Support may help you navigate recovery, but it cannot simply bypass account-security checks.
Check Subscriptions from Another Device
If the iPhone is unavailable or has no internet connection, you can check iPhone app subscriptions from another connected device signed in to the same Apple Account.
- On an iPad, open Settings, tap your name, and tap Subscriptions.
- On a Mac, open the App Store, select your name, open Account Settings, and find the subscription management section.
- On a Windows device, use an Apple media app that provides account settings, open the account details, and look for the Subscriptions section.
- On another trusted device, use Apple’s official online subscription-management option and sign in to the correct Apple Account.
Review the account name before making changes. If another person’s account is signed in, their subscriptions will appear instead of yours. After canceling or changing anything, verify the new status on the subscription details screen and keep the confirmation Apple provides.
