Track an Amazon Shipment

To start Amazon shipment tracking, sign in to the Amazon account used for the order. Open {site}, select the account menu, and go to Your Orders.

  1. Find the order that contains the shipment you want to locate.
  2. Select Track package or the tracking option shown beside the item.
  3. Review the latest status, delivery progress, and available shipment details.
  4. If the order was divided into multiple shipments, check each package separately.

The newest scan normally appears first or is highlighted on the tracking screen. It may show that a label was created, the package entered the carrier network, or the shipment reached another stage of its route.

If you use the Amazon mobile app, open Your Orders from the account area and select the order. Menu names and button positions can vary, but the order details should contain the available tracking information.

Understand the Tracking Status

Status wording can differ by shipment and carrier. These common messages describe the package’s current stage, but they do not guarantee a particular arrival time.

  • Ordered or order received: Amazon has the order record, but shipment movement may not have started.
  • Shipped: The package has entered the shipping process. A carrier scan may take time to appear.
  • Label created: Shipping information has been prepared, but the carrier may not yet have scanned the package into its network.
  • In transit: The shipment is moving through the carrier network or waiting at an intermediate facility.
  • Out for delivery: The carrier has placed the package on a local delivery route. Route conditions can still affect delivery.
  • Delivery attempted: The carrier reports that delivery could not be completed. Open the tracking details for instructions or another update.
  • Delivered: The carrier or delivery service recorded the shipment as delivered. The details may identify a general drop-off location.
  • Delayed: The shipment is taking longer than the current tracking schedule indicated. Continue checking for a new scan or revised status.

A tracking event can be posted after the physical movement occurs. For that reason, an unchanged screen does not always mean the package has stopped moving.

Track a Shipment Without Account Access

If you cannot sign in, check the email or text notifications connected to the order. An official order or shipping message may include a Track package button or a shipment-status link. Open only a notification you recognize and confirm that its order information matches your shipment.

A carrier notification may also provide tracking access after the carrier receives the shipment data. Use the tracking option within the original notification rather than searching for an unfamiliar tracking page.

If another person placed the order, ask that person to open the shipment details or forward the original shipping notification. Amazon generally needs information tied to the order before support can discuss a shipment problem.

If account access is the main issue, use the password recovery option on the Amazon sign-in screen. Do not share a password, verification code, or full payment information with anyone who contacts you unexpectedly.

Find the Carrier and Tracking Number

Open Your Orders, select the relevant order, and view its shipment or tracking details. The assigned carrier and tracking number may appear near the tracking timeline, shipment information, or Track package option.

They may also appear in an official shipping confirmation. If the order has more than one package, each shipment can have a different tracking number or carrier. Match the item and package information before using a number.

Some deliveries use Amazon’s own delivery network, and the details available outside the Amazon tracking screen may be limited. In that case, use the status shown in the order rather than entering the number on an unverified third-party tracking service.

Troubleshoot Missing or Stalled Updates

If Amazon tracking shipment details are missing, unchanged, or confusing, try these checks:

  • Refresh the order page or close and reopen the app.
  • Confirm that you selected the correct order and the correct package within that order.
  • Check whether the status says only that a label was created. The first movement scan may not be available yet.
  • Compare the Amazon order details with the latest official carrier notification, if one exists.
  • Look for a revised status, delivery attempt notice, or instruction inside the tracking timeline.
  • Check nearby entrances, a mail area, reception desk, household members, or another secure location if the shipment says delivered.
  • Review the delivery address displayed in the order details for an obvious mismatch.

If a delivery notification arrived but the package is not where expected, avoid relying only on the notification preview. Open the complete tracking record and read the latest delivery note. A delivered scan can appear before all details are visible.

For a stalled track Amazon shipment request, keep the order number, item name, tracking number, latest status, and date of the last update ready. These details make it easier for support to examine the correct package.

Get Help With Shipment Tracking

For a shipment problem, use Amazon’s official Customer Service area. Sign in, select the affected order, and choose the help topic related to delivery or tracking. The support choices displayed there are the verified options available for that account and issue.

Describe the problem briefly and precisely. State whether tracking is unavailable, has not changed, shows an attempted delivery, or says delivered when the package cannot be found. Provide the order number and tracking number when requested.

If you cannot sign in, begin with Amazon’s official account recovery process. When support access is available without signing in, follow the identity checks shown on the official help screen. Never send a password or one-time security code to someone claiming that it is needed to track Amazon shipment information.
