Track Amazon Delivery and Find Your Package

Track an Amazon Delivery

Open the Amazon app or {site}, then sign in with the account used for the order. Go to Your Orders and select the delivery you want to check. The order page may show the latest status, an estimated delivery date, shipment progress, and a Track Package option.

  1. Open Your Orders.
  2. Find the correct order by checking the item, order date, delivery address, or order number.
  3. Select Track Package or the delivery-status option shown beside the order.
  4. Review each shipment separately if the order was divided into multiple packages.

If Amazon provides a detailed tracking view, it may show when the package shipped, reached a facility, went out for delivery, or was marked delivered. Some deliveries show fewer scans than others. The absence of a detailed location does not necessarily mean that the shipment has stopped moving.

You can also check a shipment from an Amazon shipping notification. For safety, open the order from your signed-in account instead of entering account details through an unexpected message.

Find the Amazon Delivery Tracking Number

The Amazon delivery tracking number may appear in the tracking details for an individual shipment. Open Your Orders, choose the order, and select Track Package. Look for a field labeled Tracking ID, Tracking Number, or Shipment ID.

A tracking number may also appear in a shipping-confirmation email or notification. Make sure the message refers to the correct item, because one order can contain several shipments with separate numbers.

  • Check the full order details, not only the short order summary.
  • Open each shipment when an order contains more than one package.
  • Do not confuse the Amazon order number with the carrier tracking number.
  • Copy the complete tracking number without adding spaces or punctuation.

Not every order displays a separate carrier number. Amazon may keep tracking inside the order page, especially when the delivery is handled through its own delivery network. In that case, the signed-in tracking view is the official place to check progress.

Track a Package Without a Tracking Number

You can track Amazon delivery progress from the order details even when no tracking number is visible. Sign in, open Your Orders, and identify the shipment using the item name, order date, order number, delivery address, and estimated delivery date.

Select the order and look for Track Package, View Order Details, or a similar status option. If several people use the same address, compare the recipient name and item description before reporting a problem. If the order is missing, check whether you signed in with a different email address, mobile number, or Amazon account.

For a gift order, the person who placed it may have more complete tracking information. The recipient may need the order number or assistance from the sender if the delivery is not listed in the recipient’s own account.

Understand Amazon Delivery Status Messages

Status wording can vary, but common messages describe the most recent recorded step rather than the package’s exact live location.

  • Order received or ordered means Amazon has recorded the order, but shipment movement may not have started.
  • Shipped means the package has entered the delivery process. It does not mean the package is nearby.
  • In transit means the shipment is moving through the delivery network or waiting for its next scan.
  • Out for delivery usually means the package is on the final delivery route. The arrival time can still change.
  • Delivery attempted means the driver could not complete delivery. Check the order page for instructions or another planned attempt.
  • Delayed means the earlier estimate may no longer apply. Watch the order details for a revised status.
  • Delivered means the shipment was recorded as left at the destination or handed to someone there.

Tracking updates are not always immediate, and scan details may appear out of sequence. Treat any delivery date or route information as an estimate, not a guaranteed arrival time.

What to Do When Tracking Does Not Update

First, refresh the order page and confirm that you are viewing the correct shipment. A recent shipping notice may appear before the first movement scan. Allow time for the tracking system to record the next event.

  1. Compare the latest status with the estimated delivery date shown in Your Orders.
  2. Check whether the order was split into separate shipments.
  3. Review shipping notifications for a revised date, attempted-delivery notice, or address issue.
  4. Confirm that the delivery address and access instructions shown on the order are correct.
  5. If a carrier name and tracking number are displayed, use the official carrier-tracking option reached through the Amazon order details.
  6. If the estimate has passed or Amazon asks you to take action, open the order-help options.

A tracking page that has not changed does not establish the package’s current location. Avoid guessing from an old scan. Use the latest official order information, and keep the order number available if you contact support.

Report a Missing or Misdelivered Package

If an order says delivered but you cannot find it, check the delivery photo or location note when one is available. Look near entrances, mail areas, reception desks, garages, side doors, and other safe locations. Ask household members, neighbors, or building staff whether they accepted it.

Confirm that the delivery address on the order is the address you checked. Also review every shipment in the order, since only part of the order may have arrived.

If the package remains missing, open Your Orders on {site}, select the affected order, and choose the available order-help option. Depending on what the order page shows, this may be labeled Get Help, Problem with Order, or Customer Service. Follow the prompts for a package marked delivered but not received, a missed delivery, or a shipment that has not arrived.

When contacting Amazon support, have the order number, item name, delivery address, displayed status, and the date of the last tracking update ready. Describe what you already checked. Use only the support route provided within your signed-in account, and do not share your password or verification code with anyone.
