Official Google Account Sign-In Page

Open {site} and choose Sign in. Before entering anything, confirm that the page identifies Google and that your browser shows a secure connection. Avoid sign-in pages opened from unexpected messages, ads, or pop-ups.

The official page normally asks for your email address or phone number first. It should not ask you to send your password or verification code to another person. If anything looks unfamiliar, close the page and start again from {site}.

If you searched for “sign in to add a Google Account” or a similar phrase, remember that “addgoogle” is not a separate service. You are adding an existing Google Account through Google's sign-in process.

Sign In and Add Your Google Account

Have the email address or phone number connected to the account, your password, and access to any verification method you previously set up. Then follow these steps:

  1. Select Sign in or Add account on the device, browser, or app.
  2. Enter the email address or phone number for the existing Google Account and select Next.
  3. Check that the account shown is the one you intend to add.
  4. Enter the account password. Do not share it with anyone or enter it on an untrusted page.
  5. If prompted, complete two-step verification using one of the methods Google offers for that account.
  6. Review any device or app prompts, then choose the option that completes the sign-in.
  7. Open the profile menu afterward and confirm that the correct name or email address appears.

The wording may vary between Sign in, Add account, Use another account, or Continue. These options can all lead to the add Google Account sign-in flow. If an account is already listed, select it only after checking that it is yours.

When an outside app offers Sign in with Google, first confirm that you trust the app. Review the account and any permissions displayed before continuing. Adding an account to a device is different from granting an outside app access to account information.

Add an Account on a Phone or Computer

Menus vary by device model, operating-system version, browser, and app. Use these locations as guides rather than expecting every label to match exactly.

  • On Android, open the device Settings app and look for Accounts, Passwords and accounts, Users and accounts, or a similar account-management section. Choose Add account, select Google, and follow the prompts. The device may request its screen-lock PIN, pattern, or password.
  • On an iPhone or iPad, open the Google app you want to use and tap the profile image or profile icon. Look for Add account, Manage accounts, or Sign in. You can also add a Google Account through compatible account settings provided by the device.
  • In a desktop browser, open a Google service and select the profile image or initial near the top of the page. Choose Add account or Use another account, then complete sign-in in the new prompt.

If the add-account option is missing, check whether the device belongs to an employer, school, or family manager. Administrative restrictions may control which accounts can be added. On a shared or public computer, avoid leaving the account signed in.

If You Cannot Sign In

Read the exact message on the screen before repeating the attempt. Several problems can look similar but require different recovery steps.

  • If you forgot the password, select Forgot password and follow the account-recovery questions. Use a familiar device, browser, and location when possible.
  • If you do not remember the email address, choose the option for finding your email. Google may ask for recovery information and the name associated with the account.
  • If two-step verification fails, select Try another way and use an available backup method. Make sure the phone has a connection and that its date and time are correct.
  • If Google reports that the account is locked or disabled, follow the review or recovery option shown in the message. Do not rely on anyone claiming that they can bypass Google's checks.
  • If the password is accepted but the account will not remain added, update the app or browser, restart the device, and try again. Device restrictions or blocked cookies may also interfere with browser sign-in.

Do not keep guessing passwords or verification codes. Start the official recovery process instead. Google determines which questions and verification choices appear, so another person's recovery screen may not match yours.

Remove or Switch Google Accounts

To switch accounts in many Google apps or browser pages, select the profile image or initial and choose another listed account. If the account is not listed, choose Add account or Use another account and sign in.

To remove an account, open the relevant profile or account-management menu and look for Manage accounts, Remove account, or Remove from this device. Confirm the email address carefully before proceeding because removing an Android account can also remove its synced information from that device.

Removing an account from a device, browser, or app signs it out there and may remove locally synced data. It does not delete the Google Account itself. The account can generally be added again by signing in, provided you can complete any required verification.

Get Official Google Account Help

For verified instructions, open Google's Account Help section and choose the topic that matches the problem. Relevant topics include signing in, adding accounts, two-step verification, finding an email address, and troubleshooting account access.

For a forgotten password, an unrecognized sign-in change, or a locked account, use Google's Account Recovery option. Answer the questions as accurately as possible and use a device on which you previously signed in when available.

Google presents support and recovery choices based on the account and issue. Do not trust unofficial phone numbers, people asking for credentials, or anyone requesting a verification code. Google support guidance will not require you to disclose your password to another person.
